Welcome to the online home of Stuart Mason Helmintoller: musician, artist, and web consultant. I've played traditional Celtic and old-time bluegrass music for over 40 years, ever since I lived in the mountains of central West Virginia. These days I perform and teach under my nickname Stuart Mason. I’m proud to be a member of the respected Celtic band Molly’s Revenge. My side project is an old-time bluegrass band called Little Black Train. I've released a solo record titled "Appalachian Bride," and I blog about music at fiddlefreak.com.

I’m a web developer by day. As a consultant, employee, and part owner of Web Associates (now Level Studios), myself and my team designed and maintained the web sites of Apple Computer, Hewlett-Packard, Lucent Technologies and many other high tech corporations from 1997-2003. Before that, I was a self-employed web designer and artist on the island of Maui, Hawaii, where I lived in a tropical paradise for 12 years. In 2003 I left Web Associates to go back to freelance and contract web consulting, and music. For more on my job history, see my resume.

I also do fine art and commercial illustration in ink and watercolor. My ink drawings of nature themes were a regular feature in California Fly Fisher. My editorial cartoons have been published in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and the Haleakala Times in Hawaii. My artwork has appeared on hundreds of t-shirt designs as well as numerous publications.
